Who is "Little Irv"?
Little Irv, known to her friends and family as Jody Silverberg, is a pastry chef in Fredericksburg, Virginia. She takes after her father, Irving, and so when she was growing up, family and friends called her “Little Irv”.
Left: Irving in 1952; Right: Jody in 1985. The resemblance is clear.
Jody inherited her creativity from her mother, an artist, and a love of food and experimenting in the kitchen from her father, whose parents owned a delicatessen.

Jody hasn’t always been a pastry chef. She originally studied music and was a teacher for many years. She completed her Masters degree to become a reading specialist, but that wasn’t meant to be. In 2009 she was diagnosed with a degenerative eye condition, and is now legally blind.

Being blind has not stopped her from pursuing other passions, though. From this new life change came a degree in Baking and Pastry Arts, and so Little Irv’s Bakery was born.

The products made and sold by Little Irv’s Bakery are formulated with everyone in mind; in addition to regular baked goods, Jody also makes products that are dairy free, gluten free, nut free, and accommodating to any other allergies you the customer may have.
